PLASTIC GRAPES

Being the upfront, cutting edge party planners we are, we always like to make sure we’re booking acts for the right reason. That’s why we can confirm that this week’s booking of The Plastics band outta Cape Town is solely based on this band photo.
I mean, once you’ve done a band photo with an acoustic guitar and a kite in the desert you’re pretty much made right?
Obviously booking them has nothing to do with their solid, toe tapping, party-ready rock ‘n roll sound. It has nothing to do with their almost cult like existence and the bevvy of beautiful women that will be in attendance. It’s got nothing to do with the fact that they’ve headlined all the cool stages around South Africa. It’s the kite. We promise.
Along with the plastics we a gentleman who is no stranger to guitars, rock ‘n roll and beautiful women. Craig Durrant, best known as ‘drummer for the Tutus’, brings his critically acclaimed one man show to the stage. Expect a warm glow of electro pop happiness on the dance floor.
Rounding off the night is PUMA Social club’s resident DJ who had promised to drop some Mango Groove if we don’t cut off his frozen margarita supply too early. Seems like a fair trade off.
With this promised musical mayhem, we’re aware that we don’t need to hard-sell this week’s party too much, but we will say this. It’s gonna be hooooooooooot.
Now, anyone who’s been to a PUMA Social Club Jozi event will know that one thing that is guaranteed to occur is a pretty long queue. Now, while we do our best to clear that queue as quickly as possible on most weeks, we need you to understand that we’re not just running a queue to look cool. We understand that other brands might do this sort of thing to earn their stripes *cough* (see what we did there), but it’s just not necessary when you’re genuinely popular.
The club is open from 5PM every Friday and fills up pretty fast from 7pm. Once the club is at it’s official capacity, we can only allow people to trickle in as others leave. Everyone attending deserves the right to a safe and comfortable social club experience.
Our regulars will know that getting in between 5 and 6:30pm not only allows you to have a much shorter wait, it also gives you the opportunity to sample our 4-4-3 drinks special. Allowing you four selected beers and coolers for the price of 3. See here for details.
Next week we continue our quest to find Jozi’s hottest night spots (from 2nd place onwards). If you have any suggestions for us, or any thoughts or comments in general, send us an email here.
